Happiness is....

....this blog.  I started this blog as a way to document my pregnancy.  Through the process of taking weekly photos and blogging about my pregnancy, I've grown (obviously physically but I'm mostly talking about the mental part).  I embarked on something I wanted to do and stuck with it.  Because of this blog, I have experimented, tried new things, but most of all, I have taken the time to write and that has made me very happy.

One of my most personal realizations is that I've always wanted to be a writer but I've never really given myself the time to write.  Probably my biggest hinderance has been the fear of failure.  Would my writing be interesting enough?  Would my writing style be creative enough?  Would anyone read what I wrote?  I still don't have answers to my questions but at least I turned off my internal question mark and got to work.

They say life is short.  I think it is more that life is busy.  There are a million distractions in our everyday and we create most of them, or at least we allow distractions to strangle our time.  This blog has forced me to take time nearly every day of the week to write something.  I have changed myself from someone who wanted to be a writer to someone who is a writer by spending at least 15 minutes every day writing.

I love that because of my blog, I have created monthly goals and then let the world how I did.  I love that because of my blog, I've tried new projects like Project Life.  I love that I have found other blogs I really enjoy and reached out to some of them.  Most of all, I love that I have a way to document my life, what is important to me, and what I want to say about it all.

Are you bored with life?  Then throw yourself into some work you believe in with all your heart, live for it, die for it, and you will find happiness that you had thought could never be yours.

  1. Cady! I've enjoyed reading your blog and I'm always super impressed with the crafts and projects you have worked on and completed. In addition - I really enjoy your writing - all of your posts are well thought out, concise, and (this is the grammar hammer in me coming out) always grammatically correct. In short - a pleasure to read!
