This man

I love this photo of Aidan and Alan.  This moment when Aidan was only one week old and already our love was so very deep.

Over the past four and a half months, Aidan and Alan have formed an adorable bond.  Alan is the best at getting Aidan back to sleep during the night.  He is the best at making Aidan laugh.  And he is by far the best at playing airplane.

This man is a good man.  He is loving.  He is patient.  He is my rock.  He is the father of my baby; the love of my life.

I love you with all my heart.  Except for that piece that Aidan has of course.

Addison's First Birthday Party

Don't mind the fact that Addison's birthday was more than a month ago.  I've finally had the chance to go through photos and post them.  So let's focus a little less on the chaos in my life and instead concentrate on this adorable little birthday girl.  Just looking back through Addison's birthday party pictures makes me want cake.  With fondant.  Jess, get on it.
The lady bug theme of Addison's birthday party was totally adorable.  I wish it were acceptable for adults to wear tutus and polka dot leggings.  Maybe for my next birthday...

This is Addison's blue steel look.  I'm pretty sure she's throwing me some eyebrow attitude in this photo.  Watch out Tierra.

Obviously when you get presents at your birthday party, you should stand on them.  This cradle was hand made by Mr. Sinks (HAND MADE!).  It was built to sustain a small child in addition to her baby doll.
After presents came the cake.  Unfortunately, we had more tears than actual cake smashing.  Clearly she is not my child.  Not to worry though.  Next year she is doing to dive right in.  And Addison's hesitation with the cake did not keep me away.  No ma'am.
Happy birthday Miss Addison!  You are officially a walking, babbling, non-cake eating one year old!

Easter baby

At four months, Aidan didn't really get the whole Easter basket thing.  I guess he didn't realize I searched all around for his own special basket (Etsy, Target, and Pottery Barn is a pretty extensive search for me).  When we presented him his basket, he promptly swatted it, knocking the basket over and spilling out most of the contents.  Honestly I didn't realize he had this much hand-eye coordination.  Maybe I should be more impressed.

Sad bunny.  Not so sad Aidan.

Maybe he wasn't that impressed because I'm so practical when it comes to gift giving for an infant.  There are some really adorable toys out there for babies/kiddos but let's face it, a four month old doesn't need much.  So this Easter was all business.  I packed his little bunny basket (which is really more felt tote than basket) full of teething toys.  Based on the amount of drool spilling out of our kid, it's possible he sprouts a full set of chompers any day.

Aside from Aidan's attempted destruction of both his shirt sleeve, which he tried to eat, and his Easter basket, we had a really nice dinner with my parents.  I can't say my mom's future as a photographer is particularly bright, but at least we got a semi-decent shot of our little family.
And as one of our fortune cookies stated :: Buy things because you need them, not because they are on sale.

Clearly this is a sign to go shopping.  Thank you Peking Gourmet.

Four Months

Seriously, this face melts my heart.
Our handsome little nugget is now four months old, 14.5 lbs, and 25.5 inches tall.  Still no teeth (as you can see from his gummy smile) but lots of drool.  Lots and lots of drool.  Aidan has been chatting up a storm - a trait I'm sure he gets from me - and sprinkles in some random, mini laughs.

This weekend Aidan had his first Easter (more pictures of that to come) and ventured out to Peking Gourmet for the first time.  He seemed unimpressed with both.  He tried to eat his Easter dress shirt and when I showed him his Easter basket he knocked it over.  Honey badger don't care.
Thank you Mackenzie for photo bombing this picture.  Yes, we love you too.

Happy Easter all and cheers to Spring finally starting to make an appearance!
