Day 35

Marveling over the changes in our little nugget over the last month!

The holidays were busy but a lot of fun and good solid family time.  Aidan received lots of love and snuggles, kept us up way too late on Christmas, and continues to get cuter every day.

His stats for week five:

Aidan's weight: 9 lbs, 7.5 oz - we have a little fatty on our hands now!
Aidan's height: 21 3/4 inches
Diaper usage: Continues to rock about 10-12 diapers a day.  We are using up the very last of our newborn diapers and transitioning into size one!
Breastfeeding: Still going and he has tried but not yet succeeded in removing my nipples.  We also introduced a bottle for the first time this week.  Alan successfully gave Aidan his first two ounces from the bottle.  (Side note: we wanted to wait until he was four weeks old to introduce the bottle - not too early, not too late.  The idea here is that Aidan is used to the bottle making my return to work positive for both of us.)
Favorite product: One word: LANOLIN.  Awesome for me during the first three weeks of nursing when I was very tender but also the perfect chap stick for Aidan.  Who doesn't love a multi-purpose tool?  Oh and you can even use it for their bums if you don't have butt paste on hand.
Sleep deprivation: I forget what REM sleep is.
Biological warfare: Aidan's new deal is pooping in the bathtub.  It's funny and yet a total pain all at the same time.  I've learned that we have to soap him up almost immediately because you never know how quickly the toots/poop will come, but you know it's coming.
Movement: Lots of tummy time and head movement but nothing more than earlier weeks.
Best moments this week: Christmas!
Pivotal moments: His first Christmas and first snow fall!!
Cutest Aidan feature: Oh his little smile is just adorable.  I am dying to capture it in photos but it comes and goes too quickly.

Yup, we own a ginormous stocking and put Aidan in it for photos.  I was not alone for this!
