38 Weeks

How far along? 38 weeks!  although technically the photos were taken on Thanksgiving day and as of today's post, I'm actually 38 weeks + 1 day.  All those details aside, we are seriously close to my due date!
Weight gain: +29 as of Monday
Best moments this week: This week was all about family and more baby preparation.  Work was an awesomely short week and I really needed it.  Now that we are in the home stretch, I'm finding my desk chair less and less comfortable.  After a short day on Wednesday, we headed up to Delaware to visit with Jessica, Addison and my mother-in-law.  Wednesday night Alan had an alumni soccer game and Thursday morning we just relaxed around the house.  Mrs. Sinks was able to skype with Mr. Sinks while Addison just chatted away to the phone.  It's pretty adorable to watch her communicate.  We have no idea what she's saying, but she is definitely saying it!
For Thanksgiving we drove to Maryland to visit my mom's side of the family.  I'm so glad the baby held out and I was able to attend Thanksgiving.  My mom's side of the family, the McClellan's, are loud and feisty and I love soaking it all in.  I don't think there is anything better than watching my mom and her siblings make each other laugh so hard they can't breathe.
The rest of this weekend has been all about cleaning, preparing the nursery, and putting up the Christmas tree!
Miss anything: As we get closer to the end of my pregnancy, I've realized that I'm really going to miss this belly.  Seriously, this thing is convenient.  My husband has been more conscientious and helpful around the house.  I haven't had to worry about a dress or shirt being too tight for a couple months (they all are).  And while I know this baby is going to be amazingly special to us when he arrives, having him tucked away and safe and entirely bonded with me has been incredible.
Movement: Still as busy as ever.  Just this morning he had hiccups again and he loves to perform his little stretch/kick to my side.  If it were safe, I would love having an x-ray machine just to look inside my belly and see what the heck he is doing.
Pregnancy symptoms: Over the last 9 months I'm pretty sure I experienced the whole buffet of symptoms except morning sickness (and I am so thankful for that!!).  Now that we are getting closer, I'm having more and more labor signs.  Hopefully this means less waiting!
Labor signs: Lots and lots of Braxton Hicks contractions.  They are starting to get a little more intense and last a bit longer.  It's like I've been in labor for days but nothing is really happening.  This really is a waiting game and I'm one of the most impatient people.  The baby and the big guy up there are probably chuckling over my predicament.  Can't say I mind it much so long as we all stay safe and healthy.
